As a practicing Art Therapist, I have worked with clients from many different backgrounds both individually and in groups, using art therapy and talk therapy. I have 7+ years of experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, motherhood, and life transitions. Through these experiences my goal as an art therapist is to hold a safe space for the creative process to unfold and healing to take place. You do not have to consider yourself an artist to benefit from the healing powers of art therapy. Especially when words are not enough, the creative process, the art created and the processing of the art have the ability to help us gain insight, move through pain, honor difficult experiences, sit with discomfort, improve self-esteem, and communicate complex thoughts and emotions.
I am passionate about helping clients create a meaningful life through art therapy. Art therapy might seem daunting to some; however, art comes in many different forms, mediums, and approaches. I will work with you to explore different art outlets to discover what works best for you. Alongside my art therapy experience, I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I will often bring these concepts into our sessions, whether it is marrying these ideas with the art therapy process, learning the specific skills from these modalities and/or both. I believe in collaboration and creatively working together to find what works best for your therapeutic journey.
