Mission Statement

Neurodiverse Counseling Services was established to support and advocate for divergent minds. We are a cooperative of counseling professionals who rebel against the status quo through deep reflection and by questioning assumptions. We show unconditional respect and appreciation for the people we have the opportunity to meet. We are here to learn and grow with our community.

Our Vision

1: Promoting Neurodiversity Inclusion

  • Embrace a perspective that views mental health within the context of environmental interactions, steering away from pathologizing approaches.

  • Reject limiting labels and binary terminology that can perpetuate harm and marginalization.

  • Cherish the diverse perspectives among therapists, fostering an environment of varied thoughts and philosophies.

  • Prioritize understanding transformative processes over relying solely on diagnostic frameworks.

  • Engineer processes that foster equity and amplify individual strengths.

  • Empower the people we assist by nurturing their agency and autonomy.

2: Forging a Collaborative Network of Neurodiversity Affirming Providers

  • Empower providers to establish private therapy practices grounded in neurodiversity affirming care.

  • Encourage providers to align their roles with personal values and visions.

  • Offer comprehensive training and workshops centered around neurodiversity affirming practices.

  • Extend non-transactional (free) consultation and coaching services to support providers.

  • Build a platform for a decentralized cooperative comprised of neurodiversity affirming providers.

  • Cultivate programs that foster a sense of community among neurodivergent individuals, promoting mutual support.

  • Establish an integrated care facility that attends to both mental and physical well-being through a holistic approach.

4: Optimizing Provider Prosperity

  • Embody a “rest as resistance” mentality against societal pressures, expectations, and injustices.

  • Implement lean design principles, streamlining costs and operational overhead to create an economically supportive environment for providers.

  • Eliminate inefficiencies and non-value-added tasks within the organization.

  • Embrace transparency and equitable compensation by openly sharing wage and salary information.

  • Acknowledge provider efforts through substantially higher compensation due to improved resource allocation.
